Apa Itu Simple Present Tense?
Sebelum menjawab latihan soal, mari segarkan kembali ingatanmu lewat penjelasan singkat mengenai simple present tense.
Simple present tense adalah tenses yang berfungsi untuk menjelaskan fakta, kejadian, atau tindakan yang sedang berlangsung di masa sekarang atau berulang kali. Dalam tenses ini, kamu harus menggunakan kata kerja berupa infinitive verb atau kata kerja bentuk dasar yang menunjukkan aksi atau tindakan.
Jangan lupa juga untuk memperhatikan subjek dalam kalimat. Jika subjeknya berupa singular noun atau third person singular, maka V1 perlu ditambahkan -s/-es/-ies. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh:
– He brings a bag (brings = bring + -s)
– She carries the package (carries = carry + -ies)
Namun jika subjeknya berupa pronoun, plural noun, dan plural pronoun maka V1 tidak perlu ditambah -s/-es/-ies. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh:
– I bring the bag (tidak ada -s dalam ‘bring’)
– We carry the things (tidak ada -ies dalam ‘carry’)
Rumus simple present tense untuk kalimat positif adalah:
- S + Verb 1 atau Be (is/am/are)
